> London Gazette Notice, Crowning and UK Barrister's Opinion
A gazette notice was approved and published by the British Crown Tuesday 16th January 2007 on behalf of Prince David Howe, cousin to Queen Elizabeth II.

* The notice: Notice is hereby given that David Howe claims incorporeal hereditament rights to the independent Kingdom of Mann or Man,  together with fons honorum through ancestral descendantof Sir John Stanley; through the passing by letters patent of 1405 to his heirs, according to the course of the common law, for the grant itself by letters patent was warranted by the common law in this case: and therefore, if no other impediment existed, the incorporeal hereditament rights in this case have descend to the heirs general, and not to the heir male.

* The gazette notice was not challenged by any possible counter-claimant and was not disputed by Buckingham Palace nor the government of the Isle of Man.

* UK Barrister’s Opinion: The resulting legal opinion found that there was sufficient evidence and weight in support of the claim stating that, “In short, I do not believe that it is unlawful for Mr Howe to claim to be the King of Man or to pursue that claim through lawful means”.  In conclusion, the Barrister fully supported and affirmed the legal rights of Prince David.

Extensive professional research of Prince David's genealogy concludes multiple ancestral lines back to Sir John, the first Stanley King of the Isle of Man.
